Oluba Martin Nnanyelugo Msc, Ph.D, DBA

For decades, I have led several economic and financial research (comprising securities analysis, securities forecasting, valuations, macroeconomic and sector/market studies etc) activities and have largely been responsible (in almost all the instances) for setting up and managing processes and structures for the delivery of high quality strategic advice in several research-driven corporate environments/institutions. My strong passion for and excellent skills/competencies for economic and financial research, have underscored my successful execution of many projects both for local and international organizations as well as ensuring the dissemination of our research findings in high quality professional periodicals.

My consulting experience cuts across several sectors of the Nigerian economy and comprise many engagements with the World Bank, European Union (SRIP), CIDA, DFID, SLGP, UNIFEM, the National Assembly, Nigeria’s National Planning Commission, Federal ministries, many states and local governments as well as leading private organizations in Nigeria. In addition to the above, I equally have a very strong foothold in the financial services sector. For instance, I was at various times an Executive Director at Forte Asset Management Limited  and equally had responsibility for initiating, setting-up and leading in Chief Executive capacities, two capital market firms: (a) Platinum Capital Limited - the capital-market-subsidiary of Platinum Bank (now Bank PHB) and (b) Lombard Assets Management Limited before establishing and running Strategic Capital Alliance Limited - a research-based consulting outfit. In my capacity as head of Platinum capital Limited, I doubled as the head of economics, research and strategy for the bank (Bank PHB). Prior to these positions, I was at various times a senior investment analyst (with Hamilton Hammer & Co.) with responsibility for securities forecasting; associate consultant/team leader, research and strategy (ReStraL Consulting); as well as group head research and strategy (BGL Limited). I was equally a research fellow at the Lagos Business School between 1996-7. I obtained my bachelors degree (cum laude) and my masters degree (with a distinction) in economics from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka). I also obtained my PhD from ESEADE University Institute Argentina) with a dissertation titled “Responses of Gross Domestic and Foreign Private Investments to Macroeconomic Conditions in Nigeria” as well as obtained a DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) from the Swiss Management Center, Switzerland.

At present, I am the President/CEO of ValueFronteira Limited – an economic consultancy firm; an Adjunct Professor of Economics at the Swiss Management Center, Switzerland, as well as adjunct faculty (mentor) at Northcentral University, Arizona, USA.  I am prolific in commenting on national economic issues and run several newspaper columns locally and internationally.
